Jewish Museum

The synagogue was remodeled on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Jewish colony (1990). The synagogue, cemetery and museum form the Sosúa’s Israelite Parish Kehilat Benei Israel. The synagogue is open only for specific holiday services. At the time this book was written (2022) the museum was temporarily closed.

In the 1940s the religious Jewish community of Sosúa was organized into an “Association of Jewish Settlers,” whose mission was to promote religious life and education in the colony and maintain the synagogue.
